Evanston 4th of July - Tree City Green City

The poster for this year's Fourth of July Celebration showcased Evanston as an official "Tree City," featuring a hand-drawn map adorned with trees and illustrations of scheduled festivities. These included a grand parade, a fun run, children's games, and a concert with fireworks. The map provides a bird's-eye view of the day and night excitement. This concept offers a playful interpretation of Evanston's map, transforming streets into an abstract representation of a tree, where leaves overlap, and parks indicate 4th of July activity locations. A map key uses icons to pinpoint the various festivities.

The sole mission of the Evanston 4th of July Association is to provide safe and entertaining family oriented events and activities on the nation’s Independence Day Holiday. The Association was founded and continues to operate on these Core Values: freedom of views and expressions, respect for individual rights, responsibility to provide fair and equal treatment of participants and spectators, cooperation with City of Evanston codes and ordinances, and to provide the best Independence Day celebration possible for all to enjoy and remember.
