The Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) is a not-for-profit organization created by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) to support research and education efforts that enhance and confirm the critical role neurosurgeons play in improving lives. NREF is dedicated to providing education to neurosurgeons at all stages of their careers, as well as funding research into new and existing neurosurgical treatments, in order to identify links between best practices and improved outcomes in patient care.
The objective of the brand redesign was to firmly position NREF as the only foundation that can bring together research, results, education, and neurosurgeon support to make the advances that improve patients’ lives. The brand is targeted to multiple target audiences including government and corporate partners, members of AANS and individuals who have being a patient or being a family member of a patient who has benefitted from treatment provided by a neurosurgeon. The brand qualities determined through an extensive interview process among stakeholders must reflect; innovation, data-driven, scientific research, resource development, inclusive, and supporting advancements. The overall brand must convey the single most important point that NREF is at the pinnacle of science in neurosurgery with the resources to handle large-scale research and education projects.
